Life Center Education Curriculum Makes the Grade
The Life Centered Education (LCE) curriculum continues to be invaluable in assisting our students in the areas of employment, social skills and independence skills. We have been involved in a two year-long case study whereby we have not only provided statistical information highlighting how we use the program both in and out of the classroom, but the tremendous growth our students have exhibited.

Certifications Earned
Everyday we celebrate the achievements of Institute students, but this semester has been exceptional. Four students earned their vocational credentials. We couldn't be prouder to be able to send these students out into the work world prepared with the education necessary to be competitive. Congratulations to:
Jenna ~ Veterinary Assistant
Chad ~ Catering
Ellie ~ Equine Studies
Sarah ~ Child Development Associate coursework
Additionally , three students earned their National Work Readiness Credential. Join us in congratulating Jessica L., Wrenn V. and Benjamin H.
Etkin Environmental Center Continues to Grow
The new greenhouse has been adorned with several raised beds and Mr. Amarillas’s classroom. The students are reaping the benefits of the greenhouse such as growing fresh greens, vegetables and fruits. They are germinating different flowers to grow and be transplanted throughout campus. Our first harvest will include lettuce, carrots, and potatoes. This semester's education will include how to grow blueberries, raspberries, Gala apples, onions, eggplant, cauliflower and a variety of herbs. We are experimenting with growing grapes and we encourage you to stop by this summer and pick up some homemade pickles.
Experts in the Field
The ICCS faculty and staff have been engaged in a variety of professional development activities. Our staff have become certified Life Coaches and six staff members have presented at various conferences including the International Learning Disabilities conference, Council for Exceptional Children conference and the NYS Council for Exceptional Children conference. We are committed to being top in our field and continually improving the Institute for Collegiate and Career Studies.
