Greetings!
Good morning to you all, and welcome to 2022. We have much for which to be thankful and lots of questions that continue to buzz through our minds regarding the second half of this year. Each of us has to assess our communities to identify next steps – Covid exposures, substitute availability, student/family quarantines…please let us know your plans (email or phone message) if your calendar/schedule changes. When we receive phone calls in the OCS, it is good for us to be as on top of the current challenges in your schools.
Prayer for our New Year 2022 – I’m Not the River by Mary Oliver
I’m not the river
That powerful presence.
And I’m not the black oak tree
Which is patience personified.
And I’m not redbird
Who is a brief life heartily enjoyed.
Nor am I mud nor rock nor sand
Which is holding everything together.
No, I am none of these meaningful things, not yet.
As we think back on our months and months of Covid questioning, we are reminded by all in the media and the medical community that we haven’t survived the storm, yet. And, if we manage this time in the best way we can, we will learn for ourselves and our communities the importance of presence, patience and enjoyment while holding it all together. But as the poet states, not yet.
We are all on the road to a new place.
We, in the OCS, continue to keep you and your communities in our prayers.
