Senior earns perfect score on AP exam
Congrats to Jack, a senior who earned every possible point on his The College Board AP US History exam. He's one of 16 in the world to make the perfect score out of more than 500,000 students who took the test.

A Note from Mr. Handmaker

Dear Parents:

I’m writing to share the news that Theresa Powers will become the Upper Division Director at The Montessori School of San Antonio starting this July.

While we at Keystone can be excited for Theresa as she enters the world of Montessori education, we sadly say goodbye to a passionate, dynamic, and effective educator here at Keystone. We wish Theresa all the best in her new role, and we are glad that she will remain in San Antonio.

Beginning in July, Dr. Jennifer Wivagg will serve as Interim Head of Middle School and oversee curriculum, pedagogy, and instruction.

Kassi Mlcak will continue in her role as Assistant Head of Middle School and focus on programming while also serving as a point of contact for the parent community on social and emotional learning issues. Jennifer and Kassi will provide important continuity to the Middle School as we move forward.

Starting in Fall 2019, we will conduct a national search for a Head of Middle School, as we look for an educator who can build on our previous successes and make the Keystone Middle School even more outstanding.

Please join me in congratulating Theresa when you see her.

25 students participate in worldwide math competition
Twenty-five students from 5th through 11th grades came out on a Sunday morning to test their math skills against teams from all over the world in the  Purple Comet  math competition.

Book Buddies Book Drive - April 1-30

Look for grey bins around campus to collect kids' books for Book Buddies.

Fourth grade Leadership is helping Book Buddies. That's an initiative of San Antonio Youth Literacy to collect books suitable for kids in grades Pre-K through 5, that kids can take home to read over the summer. Please consider donating your gently used picture books, chapter books, fiction or non-fiction, but please no dirty, torn or religious books. Click here for more information.

The drive runs throughout April.
Get your Fiesta medal now!
This year's Fiesta medals are available for purchase for $10 in the Development Office or Business Office, both upstairs at Founders Hall. All proceeds will go to the Alumni Scholarship. Medals will also be available for purchase at the King William Alumni Reunion and Fun Day.

LitMag is running a breakfast sale before school on Tuesday, April 16. Look for breakfast tacos and other goodies.
Regional College Fair - April 16

From Ms. Christiansen: The San Antonio Regional College Fair is Tuesday, April 16 from 6-8 p.m. at The University of Texas at San Antonio - Main Campus.

Grades 9-11 are encouraged to attend. Information about parking and the list of colleges/universities represented at the college fair will be emailed to Upper School families as we get closer to the event date. 

This is a great event to learn about a variety of colleges, speak with college representatives, and add your name to mailing lists. Representatives from 130 colleges from all over the country will be on hand. Registration is not required, but you can sign-up online to receive updates about parking and reminders for the event.

Lower School Admissions Preview - April 17
If you know of people who are interested in attending Grades 2-4, please tell them about the Lower School Admissions Preview from 9-10 a.m. on April 17 at the Lower School Library.

PTO Meeting - April 17
From the PTO: Parents, please join us for the Spring General PTO Meeting on Wednesday, April 17. It begins with a gathering and refreshments in the Keystone Theater Garden at from 5:30-6 p.m., then moving into the Theater for the meeting from 6-7 p.m.

Bake Sale - April 18
LitMag will present a bake sale on Thursday, April 18 during 5th and 6th periods. It's for Middle and Upper School students only.
No classes April 19 - School Holiday
Middle School Main Event - April 25
Middle School Leadership elective invites fifth, sixth, seventh and eighth graders to attend an evening of fun with classmates after school on April 25. Students will ride Keystone busses to the Main Event at the end of the school day, and be picked up by parents at 7 pm. Cost of the evening is $20; food, activities and an unlimited gamecard are included. Permission slips and money due to Ms. Powers or Ms. Mlcak by Thursday, April 18.  Download a permission slip here . And email Ms. Powers if you'd like to chaperone.

Alumni Reunion at King William Fair - April 27
Celebrate Fiesta with Keystone Alumni during the King William Fair! Reminisce and celebrate with drinks and snacks at a private party. Our Alumni Reunion will take place from 11am-3pm on Saturday, April 27th.
