Three Keystone seniors have been named National Hispanic Scholars. This means they were among the top 2.5% of Hispanic and Latino PSAT/NMSQT test takers in our region.

Kinder Bear Parade kicks off geography study

At my age and having travelled a fair amount, I thought I had seen a great deal. Nevertheless, nothing prepared me for the beauty and magic of watching salmon leap out of the water and up a waterfall during last week’s 9th grade Outdoor Education trip to Olympic National Park.

College Visits

For the week of Sept. 30-Oct. 4, representatives will be on campus from: American University, University of Chicago, George Washington University, University of Pennsylvania, Southeastern University, Southern Methodist University, Texas State University and Wesleyan University.

PTO General Meeting - Oct 2
From the PTO: Parents are invited to attend the PTO General Meeting on Wednesday, October 2nd at 6pm in the Flex Lab of the Shadfan Science and Creativity Center with a brief social starting at 5:30 pm. 

Alison Raymer and Dr. Erica Shapiro, Keystone Counselors, will be our guest speakers at the meeting, and will speak about the important role that resilience and maintaining a growth mindset play in the lives of our students and families. Alison and Erica will also provide specific, age-appropriate tools for helping our children navigate challenges and change. There will be opportunity for Q&A as well.

Paying for College Night - Oct 2

All Upper School parents are invited to attend a session on paying for college on Oct. 2 from 7-8:30 p.m. in the Theater.

Christina Pikla, Director of Financial Aid at Trinity University, will be our guest speaker again this year. The program will include an overview of financial aid, both merit and need-based, the application process for aid, advice for families, and Q &A. We’ve decided to offer this program every year due to the importance of understanding the financial aid process when applying to college. 
Lower School Playdate - Oct. 14

Attention Lower School families -- a playdate for all Lower School families will take place at 11 a.m. on Oct. 14. More details coming soon from PTO.
Picture Day - Oct. 16

Picture Day is set for Oct. 16, if you want to start planning haircuts and outfits. Picture retake day is Tuesday, December 3. 7th graders will take photos on the retake day, because they'll be out on an Outdoor Education trip.

Elmo Ponsdomenech '76 wins second Emmy
Congratulations to Elmo Ponsdomenech '76 for winning his second Emmy.

He won in the category of  Outstanding Sound Mixing For A Comedy or Drama Series , for his work on the  HBO series Barry .

He won his first Emmy last year. His first nomination came in 1999 for sound mixing for NYPD Blue.
