The dragon parade that takes students from their classroom through North Hall and Founders Hall is always a February highlight.
Keystone students win big in Scholastic Writing Awards
Fifteen Upper School students won 24 awards in this year’s Scholastic Writing Awards for the Southwest-Region-at-Large, with nine receiving Gold Key designations.
Those nine are forwarded to the national level for judging. Results will be announced on March 13.


Science Fair students soar at competition
Congratulations to Keystone's science fair students. Nine of them received honors at the Junior Academy of Sciences competition last weekend.

Billy's Blog: From the Head of School
For years, I have loved discussing Mary Shelley’s “Frankenstein” with students. I enjoy the conversations around the story, how the actual tale may differ from the popular culture version they may know, and the relevance of the novel to today’s world.

In particular, we talk about the tension between a society’s technical knowledge and its code of ethics.

Middle and Upper Parents session on cyber safety - Feb. 13
If you're Middle or Upper School parent, please make time for a presentation on Feb. 13 from attorney Donna McElroy on cyber safety . It takes place from 6-7:30 p.m. in the Theater. Child care is available in the Cafeteria.

The South Texas Blood & Tissue is holding a blood drive honoring Dev, a second-grader.

Have you signed the Family Handbook?

Several families haven't signed the Family Handbook. Find out if you're one of them by logging into Renweb (now called FACTS). You'll see a notification that you haven't signed the the Required Family Handbook Form.  This form asks that you acknowledge that you have familiarized yourself and agreed with the terms and conditions of our Family Handbook. 

Presentation for Parents on Substance Abuse - Feb. 20

FCD (Freedom from Chemical Dependency) Educational Services counselor Will Strahan will offer a presentation for parents on the current trends with drugs and alcohol with young people, and the best approaches for parents to combat addictive substances.
The talk runs from 5:30-7 p.m. in the Theater.
