Moving Forward

A message from the President...

Happy Independence Day!

Let us all give thanks to those who have sacrificed much for our country! The cooperation of everyone in the past and present has helped make this country great!

The Pennsylvania State Snowmobile Association (PSSA) has lost a long-time supporter of PSSA. Janet Auker (Region 8 Director) passed away recently. Janet was a Board member and volunteer whenever/wherever needed. Her example of service and cooperation was admired by all who knew her. She is missed. A memorial will be given to Hospice from PSSA. Keep Roger and his family in your thoughts and prayers.

The Power Sport Show Committee is continuing to discuss plans for the Show the weekend of October 30-November 1. The event will depend on the circumstances and regulations surrounding the Covid 19 virus. This situation highlights the fact that PSSA needs to develop more ways to increase our finances. Options for more activities are being explored by the Board. If you have any fundraising ideas, please e-mail them to Chick Walter, Board Secretary at ( walter.charles@rocketmail.com ).

In preparation for our virtual Annual Meeting please plan to register on the website July 7- August 7. Registration details will be forthcoming. Comments/concerns can be listed on the registration. The Board will discuss them as time permits. Future discussion meetings are being planned and anything not covered at the Annual Meeting will be discussed at a future meeting.

Remember you can listen to the Membership meeting by phone or watch it on the internet. Information will be posted in the August “Keystone Snowmobiler”.

The Board approved of new Committees at the last meeting. Members will be listed on the website. If you have an interest in being a member of any Committee, please contact the Chair.

Grant applications are being sent to the clubs in the next week or two. Clubs are advised to read the application forms carefully. PSSA has given much to these clubs now we need to know what clubs are doing to help PSSA.

Kellner Snow Tours

Kellner Snow Tours LLC conducted two snowmobile trips this year. The first trip started Sunday, 02/09/20 at the Doubletree by Hilton, Quebec City, and traveled the north shore of the St. Lawrence River. We rode to the Fairmont Le Manoir, La Malbaie; Complexe Hotelier Pelchat, Les Escoumins; and to our farthest destination Hotel Le Manoir, Baie Comeau; before returningt to the Hotelier Pelchat; Hotel Pavillons Le Petit Manoir, La Malbaie, and back to the Doubletree on 02/14/20.

Glendale Lake SMC

Greetings from the Glendale Lake SMC. The longest day of the year has passed and we’re on the countdown to sledding season. But let’s not rush the seasons, there’s lots to do and enjoy before Fall. The club continues to be busy over the summer months.

Meet Don Mosier

Don Mosier is seeking re-election to the Board of Directors of PSSA. Here is some information about Don for members to review for our upcoming Membership Meeting...

My name is Don Mosier I am married to Carol Mosier and have been since April 1968. We reside in McKean, Pa. and have since Aug. 1968. Were we raised our 2 children, Brian and Amie. We have been a snowmobile family since Jan. 1969. Our children have always enjoyed riding sleds and it has carried down to our grandchildren. We have a camp in the ANF in Marienville, Pa. and when we have proper snow, enjoy riding there. I have been retired from UPS since 2003. I am a member of the McKean Snowriders Snowmobile Club and have served as trail boss for several years and President for 15 years. I'm also a member of PISC, and CLSC in New York. Enjoy riding in these areas and Canada.

I have been a PSSA board member for the past 6 years and have served on the mini grants committee for 10 yrs. My vision for PSSA is to continue to work to move forward to get more people involved in PSSA. Without PSSA, the Pa. Snowmobile Clubs would be at a great loss. In closing, I have met so many great people through snowmobiling. My wife and I have worked at several PSSA Powersports shows and have met many nice people that have the same goal that we have.

My hope is to see PSSA grow.
