How can I find the rabbi who's right for me?
When a newcomer once asked Reb Michel Dorfman
that question, he smiled and answered: "As a boy I also asked but no answer satisfied me.
Then I met a Breslover
Reb Avraham Sternhartz
who gave me the answer nobody else was able to."
With that, Reb Michel put both hands on the table in front of him, turned his face upward, closed his eyes, swayed back and forth slightly, and said the words
ותקננו בעצה טובה מלפניך*
in a quiet, melodic chant. Reb Michel repeated the phrase a few times, then opened his eyes and continued:
"The Rebbe stressed having special
(intention/concentration) when we say this phrase because we're asking Hashem to guide us about what to eat and what not to eat, where to go and where
