The New Horizons Concert Band, PMAC's first and longest standing program

PMAC's New Horizon Concert Band is truly a testament that it is never too late to start playing an instrument. Comprised of adults who have never played and instrument before and are just picking it up as an adult and those who had played in grade school and wanted to revisit a long lost passion - New Horizons is one of many of PMAC's ensembles that caters to adults.

Beginning in 2003, New Horizons was PMAC's first ensemble (their very first rehearsal is pictured above, in the PHS band room). As PMAC grew, opportunities came with it. We now hosts 16 adult ensembles and classes for all levels and provide a welcoming environment for all who want to participate in music!

PMAC's New Horizons Band meets every Tuesday at 7:30pm and is always welcoming new players - if you play a band instrument and want to try it out, e-mail russ@pmaconline.org and we'll get you started!

To hear our adult ensembles perform, join us for our 11th Annual Concert of Thanksgiving! Not only will you get a peak into what we do here - you'll be helping out a good cause. Visit our website for more information about this year's concert which benefits END 68 HOURS OF HUNGER.

FACULTY SPOTLIGHT

This week's faculty spotlight is flute instructor and Flute Choir director Kibbie Straw!
If you are looking to study the flute, Kibbie is your girl. Down to earth and all around welcoming, Kibbie makes everyone in the room feel warm. As our only flute instructor and our Adult Flute Choir instructor, she knows how to work with anyone - from beginner to advance, child to adult, she can do it all. Always smiling and laughing, Kibbie makes any room she's in feel like home.

PMAC is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization serving the greater Seacoast region.
