We’re kicking off 2025 with an inspiring behind-the-scenes look at Allie’s Place Center for Culinary Education & Employment! Our talented Culinary Instructors—Chefs Gabriel, Gregorio, and Jayda—share the magic they create in our culinary classrooms every day. Even more inspiring are the stories from our student alumni, who reveal how this program has helped them secure jobs, explore small business ideas, and build brighter futures.

This is the next best thing to visiting the Culinary Center in person—don’t miss it!

Know someone who might benefit from this program? Share the video and encourage them to attend an upcoming Open House. It is absolutely free for qualifying students. Or consider making a donation to help us continue to grow this transformative program.

  • Camp Wakonda will continue to serve as the venue for our end-of-session Carnivals, as well as day camp and family activities for children and families across all six HFH shelters.

Inside Camelot’s Holistic Approach to Counseling

Camelot Counseling Services provide life-changing support to residents at Allie’s Place, Saratoga, Prospect, and Williamsbridge. Their substance use counseling and programming is provided at no cost to residents; their holistic approach empowers clients to rebuild their lives, both in shelter and beyond.

“Our staff are not a group of people who rent office space at a shelter ... We work together with shelter staff. Our individual counseling sessions are [founded in] evidence-based cognitive behavioral therapy [which] helps the clients to deal with today. Yesterday has some effect on today, but [clients] have to figure out what to do today and tomorrow. We continue to provide services to them when they move out of shelter."

– Logan Lewis, Camelot’s Director of Outpatient Services
