Download a reading log and let us know each time you reach a milestone. Need something to read? Access our robust eResources , including eBooks, eMagazines, newspapers and more. The library offers porch side pick-up for requested print items.

Find new challenges each week on our Summer Learning page . Activities encourage you to read, create, explore, learn or share. Collect personalized certificates and post them in your window or on your fridge. Each Thursday features a family STEAM program – pick up pre-packaged supplies for featured activities, available at all five library locations the week of the program (pick up Monday – Thursday, 9 a.m.-8 p.m. for the program that Thursday).

Money Matters: Building Wealth

Having a plan for your money will help you reach your financial goals. Learn basic wealth-building concepts with Building Wealth , a curriculum of the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas, presented Tuesday, June 23 at 1 p.m. via Zoom. Whether your goal is saving money for a large purchase, paying off debt, or protecting your assets, you'll take away a new perspective and at least one action you can take. For help preparing a spending plan, watch Simple Budgets Using Excel , a virtual library program offered recently.

For thoughtful spending, Plano Public Library offers free access to Consumer Reports through the EBSCO database, providing unbiased reviews and research on a variety of products to help consumers make informed purchasing choices. Access the Consumer Reports Buying Guide 2020 via Flipster , one of our free digital magazine services. Flipster and RBDigital also have popular magazines on finances such as The Economist , Kiplinger’s Personal Finance and Money .

Save money by using DIY resources like the Small Engine Repair Reference Center, Home Improvement Reference Center and Hobbies and Crafts Reference Center. Learn skills with free training opportunities on LearningExpress Library and Lynda.com . For assistance with library digital resources, make a virtual appointment with a librarian .

Experience the Wonder

Add a little wonder to your summer with our entertaining and educational Wonderbook collection ! Wonderbooks are print books with built-in, rechargeable audiobook players. Simply press play and listen or read along with the story. Choose from hundreds of titles by your favorite children’s authors, as well as Wonderbook exclusives.

Wonderbooks are available in picture book, early reader, chapter book and nonfiction formats, so children of all ages can enjoy a new and interactive reading experience. Switch the player into Learning Mode for a narrator-led question and answer session that boosts reading comprehension, encourages discussion and adds a fun learning dimension.
