September 2018

September ... the month where football begins in earnest, cooler temperatures with lower humidity prevail and fall festivals are in abundance. You will find some great links at the bottom of the newsletter to help you celebrate the emerging fall season.
In August I attended the Southeast Residential Trade Show and had the pleasure of hearing Mark Toro, founder of NAP and developer of both Atlantic Station and Avalon, speak about The Key Ingredients to Creating a Community . I found his presentation inspiring and it underscored why "mixed use developments" have become so popular and consumers are paying a premium to live there. My favorite quote: " When I walk out my front door I’m already where I’m going…"

And on that note, I have included some interesting articles on commuting in Atlanta. Did you know that Atlanta drivers lose approximately 484 days in their lifetime to rush hour(s)?! After you read that kind-of-depressing article, check out the links I have included to make your commute a little better. Hopefully.

As we transition into a new season, you might know of someone that wants to make a transition of their own. Some are downsizing, some are moving to a larger home, and for others it means transitioning from renting to owning. If you or someone you know are thinking about a Fall move, I would love to have a conversation with you. Call me and I'll buy you a Pumpkin Spice Latte !
P.S. And as always, if you like what you read here, please share it with a friend!
Community, Connection without the Commute
What is mixed use development? Today it's generally defined as a blend of residential, office and commercial, cultural and entertainment, where the overall environment is similar to a small town. There are pedestrian connections to almost every convenience. It can take the form of a single building, a city block, or entire neighborhoods.

Chef-driven restaurants, casual bistros, coffee shops and wine bars. The shopping of your dreams, from apparel to furniture to Whole Foods Market. A premium movie theater, single family, townhomes & luxury rental homes and a beautiful hotel. Streets to stroll.
Everything you want, all the time.

A wellness community connected to nature on the edge of Atlanta. A neighborhood full of fresh food, fresh air and focused on wellbeing. This community is set among acres of preserved forests and meadows with miles of nature trails that connect homes and restaurants with arts & businesses.
A new standard for community living.

Atlanta Beltline

The Atlanta BeltLine is a sustainable redevelopment project transforming the city. It will ultimately connect 45 intown neighborhoods via a 22-mile loop of multi-use trails, modern streetcar, and parks – all based on railroad corridors that formerly encircled Atlanta.
The place where Atlanta comes together.
