2018 Turkey Burn
A JFS Food Pantry Fundraiser

For a $7 donation or a donation of 2 to 3 needed paper good items you can burn off some of the extra calories from those Thanksgiving mashed potatoes! Yolanda Suggs, a licensed Zumba instructor will be leading a Zumba Toning Class with proceeds going to the JFS Food Pantry. Come have fun and support the Jewish community!
Items that we are always in need of include: Paper plates, food storage bags, plastic utensils, four roll toilet paper packs, trash bags, two or four roll pack paper towels and napkins. 

Chanukah Lunch

From 12:00 - 1:00 PM
Come join us at the Federation on Wednesday, December 5th for Chanukah! We will celebrate this Festival of Lights by lighting the 4th candle for the 4th day, enjoying traditional oil-fried foods for the holidays such as latkes, and eating birthday cupcakes with our community's December birthdays. As per Chanukah tradition, our 2nd graders from the South Bend Hebrew Day School will share Chanukah songs with us.

Menorah Lighting Ceremony in South Bend

Please join us on Sunday, December 2nd at 6:00 PM for the first ever public 
menorah lighting ceremony in South Bend. The event will take place on the first night of Chanukah in the plaza in front of the Morris Performing Arts Center in Downtown South Bend

The Kurt & Tessye Simon Foundation of Temple Beth-El is pleased to host a weekend of lectures by Rabbi Doug Kahn. Rabbi Kahn is the Executive Director Emeritus of the San Francisco-based Jewish Community Relations Council and the founder of BroadTent Consulting, a JCRC Consultancy Practice. 

He will speak on Friday, November 30, at 5:30 p.m., during Shabbat Services, and on Saturday morning, December 1, at 10:30 a.m. Rabbi Kahn’s talk on Friday will be followed by an Oneg Shabbat, and on Saturday by a light brunch. RSVP’s are requested for Saturday brunch.
