During Discovery Day at Kaufman Music Center on Tuesday, June 13, children ages 4+ can strum on a guitar, learn how it feels to bow a cello, and take a turn at the trumpet or saxophone-plus more! From 3:30pm - 6:30pm, stop by and encourage interaction with instruments under the guidance of
Lucy Moses School's
experienced, nurturing
faculty members
. Families can also step into Kaufman Music Center's
Merkin Concert Hall
to enjoy short performances by talented young Lucy Moses School
students. Snacks will be available during the event.
Additionally, on June 13, children and their caregivers can participate in a sample 20-minute
Dalcroze Eurhythmics
class in which they'll explore musical concepts through active rhythm games, creative movement, songs and stories. They can also move joyfully in a sample 20-minute
Creative Dance
and
Modern Dance
classes in Lucy Moses School's dance studio. Space in these classes is limited, so be sure to sign up in advance by calling (212) 501-3360.
Discovery Day isn't the only exciting event happening at Kaufman Music Center this month. On Wednesday, June 21, Special Music School will graduate its first senior class! So, congratulations to the first graduating high school class of 2017.

| Midsummer Night Swing 2017 |
Lincoln Center's summer programming is about to be in full-swing; namely, its best outdoor dance party at Damrosch Park will begin this month on Tuesday, June 27:

This year's roster is again full of diverse, dance-able musical acts. To name a few, guests can waltz and foxtrot to Margi & the Dapper Dots on Friday, June 30 and Lindy Hop to David Ostwald's Louis Armstrong Eternity Band on Tuesday, July 4, plus, more opportunity for blues, salsa, swing, and cha-cha.
There are a total of 16 performances in this year's schedule between Tuesday, June 27 and Saturday, July 15. Each performance includes live music, a performing DJ and dance instructors on the dance floor.

| Celebrate 20 Years of the Lincoln Square BID - Tickets Going Fast! |
On Wednesday, June 14, 2017 from 5:30pm - 8:30pm the Lincoln Square Business Improvement District will celebrate its
20th Anniversary with a reception at the David Rubenstein Atrium at Lincoln Center. The event will honor three of our Founding Board Members and commemorate two decades of vision, action, and results. The party will offer heavy Hors d'Oeuvres, delicious specialty cocktails, and a silent auction with wonderful prizes from our local community businesses and organizations.
The evening's Emcee will be David Novarro, Anchor, WABC-TV, Eyewitness News with live music by the creative jazz and swing band Grandpa Musselman & His Syncopators! W
e will be honoring three of our Founding Board Members: Georgette F. Bennett, George Crawford, and
Andrew Pucher.
