Greetings NENSA Community!

Mother Nature has continued in the crazy (bad) weather department, and we are keeping a close eye on conditions for upcoming race weekends and events. That said, the White Mountain Classic 30k, NENSA One Day Club Championship, was a huge success, with good course conditions despite the warming temps and a multitude of pine cones in the tracks due to high gusting winds. See box below for full write up on the day and photos. Congrats to the men of NWVE and the women of CSU on winning the club titles for 2018!

Another large contingency of New England Masters racers were out in Minneapolis MN last weekend for the World Masters Championships. Our NENSA members had some really fantastic results and World Masters Titles! See below for a full write up and results.

Word has it that tomorrow, Thursday 1/25 will be the day that the USOC announces who will be on the Cross Country Olympic Ski Team for PyeongChang. You can see who is on the potential list so far, in the box below, including 6 NENSA Elite Team members! Fingers crossed another New England skier, or two, can join the list! NENSA will post the Team on all social media, once it is announced. Hard to believe, but it is finally almost here! #16daystoPyeongChang

This weekend brings the Supertour to Craftsbury VT (sprints on Friday and distance races on Sunday, which is also an out of region JNQ for U18/U20's). The iconic Craftsbury Marathon will be in-between the two, on Saturday 1/27. Sunday is also NENSA's sold out Women's Day in Woodstock VT. There are so many other great races and events happening all over New England this weekend, paintball anyone?? Be sure to check out the full list of calendar events at the bottom of this newsletter.

Want to be a part of all the action this winter and make a difference - consider volunteering at the upcoming Stowe Eastern Cup/UVM Carnival the weekend of 2/2-2/4. Full details and how to sign up to help in the box below.

I hope to see you out on a snowy race trail soon - perhaps at the Craftsbury Marathon this Saturday? Or Woman's Day on Sunday?

Best,
Amie

Volunteers Needed for upcoming Stowe Eastern Cup/UVM Carnival Weekend ~ February 2-4
It takes a village to put on three days of Eastern Cup and College Carnival racing. Be a part of the fun and action! Consider volunteering at the upcoming Stowe VT EC/UVM Carnival. This three day event will attract some of the fastest skiers from around the region. It should be an exciting race series and we will need many volunteers to help us pull off a great event!

Friday, 2/2: Open Carnival only
Saturday, 2/3: Combined Open Carnival and EC
Sunday, 2/4: EC only (Zak Cup)

Volunteers needed for stadium setup and breakdown, timing, finish area, course monitors and maintenance, crowd and crossing control and bib collection/organization. As a thank you for your hard work, Stowe Nordic will provide all volunteers with hot beverages and breakfast goodies, a yummy lunch and a Trapp ski pass for each day you volunteer.

In the event of insufficient snow, we will hold the races at Craftsbury Outdoor Center. This decision will be made by next Tuesday.

If you are interested in helping, please email volunteer@stowenordic.org with the day(s) and time(s) that you are available. Please also let them know if you have a preferred task.
