Happy 2018 NENSA Community!

So many great races and events going on all over New England and beyond! This week, our NENSA staffers are heading out to events and races in Maine, Vermont and Alaska.

Justin Beckwith, our Competitive Program Director is busy putting the finishing touches on the upcoming Rikert Eastern Cup weekend, and wrote the great Zak Cup Primer (see box below) for all of our Zak Cup racers. And you might just see Justin racing at the Stowe CrossCut Classic this Sunday!

Amber Freeman, our Youth Program Director, is headed up to Waterville ME to be a presenter at the OSI Ski Leader Workshop this Friday, Saturday & Sunday. It's not too late to sign up!

I am in Anchorage Alaska for the US Sr. Nationals with the CSU juniors team, and I will be reporting on all the action there on our NENSA fb and Instagram. We have a large contingency of New England athletes/teams racing, including Craftsbury Green Team & juniors, Colby, CSU juniors, Dartmouth, GMVS (also supporting Frost Mountain and a Bowdin skier), SMS T2, and SMS. This is an Olympic Trial for many of our top US athletes, and the junior qualifier for the World Juniors & U23 Worlds Teams, and the U18 Scando Team selection. Live streaming of all races will be carried on the U.S. Ski & Snowboard Facebook channel .

A HUGE SHOUT OUT to Sophie Caldwell for her 2nd place Podium at the opener of the Tour de Ski Sprint race on 12/30, and to Jessie Diggins for her 3rd place podium in the Pursuit race on New Years Day! NENSA is proud of our Elite Team athletes - all of them!!

A "Zak Cup Primer" for all our Masters Racers out there!
Despite the downright frigid temperatures hovering over New England skiers of all ages enjoyed excellent conditions over the holiday period. This weekend our Zak Cup races resume with two events on Sunday the 7th, the Stowe Nordic Crosscut 10km and the Gunstock January Thaw 12km/8km (moved from Saturday due to predicted cold temps). You can find out more about those races, including registration, by searching our Calendar of Events and learn more about the entire series by looking at the Zak Cup page. Registration for all events are done through SkiReg.com

NENSA is excited to work with amazing venues throughout the region to put on this robust series of citizen races. The Zak Cup was designed to promote masters skiing and highlight the top skiers in all age groups (Master 1 – Master 12) for their season long efforts.......
