Greetings NENSA Community!

I am out in Soldier Hollow Utah with the New England Junior National team. This is my fifth year as the Trip Leader for this event, and it is something I really love doing. There is something wonderful about athletes and coaches, from clubs and teams all over New England, coming together and working on this national trip. I am always so impressed with the kids, coaches and wax techs, and even though it is a lot of work, including trying to fly the team out of the first Nor'easter when leaving last weekend, I would not trade it for anything.

We have had two days of racing thus far, and two more still to come. See box below for links to recaps, photos and results of the interval Classic distance race day held on Tuesday, and the freestyle Sprint race day held Wednesday. So far, Team New England has won 4 national titles - two back to back first place wins by Will Koch (U16, SMS) in the classic distance race AND the sprint race; one by Ben Ogden (U18, SMS) in the classic distance race; and one by James Kitch (U18, CSU juniors) in the sprint race, and 7 podiums overall thus far. Twenty four of our NE athletes, so far, have also earned All American by placing in the top 10 of their age class races. JN racing resumes tomorrow, Friday March 9th with the mass start freestyle races, and concludes on Saturday with the 3x3 classic team relays. You can watch all the active live on live streaming and live timing HERE . Action starts each day at 9am MT.

After two days of racing, team New England holds a very narrow 6 point lead in the Alaska Cup standings, over Rocky Mountain. It's gonna be a tight race for that Cup this year!
The Craftsbury Green Racing Project (GRP) is now accepting applications for the 2018-19 training year. GRP is looking for fast skiers who wish to pursue their competition goals after college in either skiing or biathlon, as well as U23 athletes looking for a great summer training opportunity (find more about that program) . Applications for all programs (year round or summer) are due March 30 and decisions will be announced mid-April.
We’re excited to have had six current and former GRP skiers and biathletes at the 2018 Peyongchang Olympics, even more GRP representation at World Cups, IBU Cups, and numerous national podiums. We look forward to welcoming another crop of athletes for Winter 2019. More info HERE
