Who HomeAid Helps

Solomon’s Temple Foundation is a nonprofit serving women experiencing homelessness and their children through emergency and transitional housing programs that foster independence.

Before coming to Solomon’s Temple, Doni and her five-year-old son, Zamonie, were living in a homeless shelter. Moving into the safe and stable environment at Solomon’s Temple has made a meaningful difference for their family.

Diagnosed with autism at age two, Zamonie was very shy and avoided eye contact when they arrived. Doni worried the transition and living around many families would overwhelm him, but through regular interaction with staff and residents, he has made incredible progress. Today, he smiles, follows verbal commands, fist bumps others, and is becoming more verbal and inquisitive. Doni is grateful for the loving, family environment at Solomon’s Temple that has helped her son thrive.

HomeAid Happenings

Care Day with Davidson Homes and GAHBA YPG

On June 12, a team of 18 volunteers from Davidson Homes and GAHBA YPG came together for a Care Day at Solomon's Temple Foundation. Volunteers helped beautify the outdoor space with various landscaping tasks for women and children rebuilding their lives.

Care Day with David Weekley Homes

David Weekley Homes has partnered with us since 2019 through their national DWH CARES initiative. On June 5, a group of 43 volunteers spent the day giving back during a large Care Day at Calvary Children’s Center. From painting bathrooms and freshening up the landscaping to building picnic tables and a new storage shelving unit for donations, the team jumped in wherever help was needed.

Their trade partners listed below also joined the effort by installing new bathroom fans and shower glass enclosures, while laying mulch and pine straw throughout the grounds. In addition, the $10,000 DWH CARES grant enabled HomeAid to purchase patio furniture and other materials for the project. Altogether, the Care Day and grant support brought more than $35,000 in discounts and donations to help support the children served by Calvary Children’s Center.

CareKits with Coastal States Bank

Coastal States Bank sponsored a HomeAid CareKit Assembly on June 18 with 22 volunteers. The 500 hygiene kits were distributed to Atlanta Center for Self Sufficiency, supporting vulnerable individuals and families as they work toward stability.

Construction Update

We’ve officially crossed the finish line and received the Certificate of Occupancy for our project at Peace Place, Inc.—our first HomeAid Georgia project beyond our original HomeAid Atlanta footprint.

We look forward to celebrating the opening of this facility soon, thanks to leadership of Paran Homes and Evans General Contractors. This new facility will allow Peace Place to double its capacity, providing safe shelter and critical support to even more women and children escaping domestic violence.

A milestone worth celebrating and a meaningful step forward in serving those who need it most.
