2022 Legislative Update on Chamber Website!
The South Kitsap Chamber of Commerce believes in keeping our members informed on important legislative issues that face local businesses. Navigating the governmental landscape can be very complicated and time-consuming. The Chamber relies on many partners to help us keep our membership educated.

Our goal is to provide our members with information and resources to make informed decisions that are happening on a Federal, State, and local level.

Page includes contact information for legislators, bill tracking information, and a 2021 legislative review with voting records on key business issues.
Check out our Governmental Affairs page on our website!
New Business Center in Town Square Mall
We are in desperate need of YOUR flyers and business cards to add to the new Business Center in the Town Square Mall on Mile Hill, and the original Business Center in the Port Orchard Pubic Market.
The Business Center has been very successful, but we are running low on media to stock them with.
All Chamber members are invited to drop off business cards and pamphlets at the office! If we are not here, please leave them in the mail slot.

Grants Available for Minor Upgrades to Child Care Facilities
Early Learning Facilities (ELF) program will open a new funding round for eligible child care providers in early March. Grants are for minor renovations to existing buildings used by child care providers licensed or certified by the Department of Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF) on or before January 1, 2020.
Grant details:
  • Family homes, child care centers, and K-12 school districts are all eligible to apply.
  • Grant funds may be used for minor renovations and small capital purchases.
  • All work must be performed by licensed and bonded contractors.
  • The grants are intended to support child care providers so that they can maintain or expand operations during and after the COVID-19 public health emergency.
  • Specific allowable capital project costs will be listed in the Program Guidelines
Important updates
  • Unlike previous ELF funding rounds, providers do not need to increase their number of spaces to apply.
  • Previous ELF awardees are eligible to apply in this funding round, as long as this scope of work is different from a previous ELF award.
