"A pilot who says he has never been frightened in an
airplane is, I'm afraid, lying."
Louise Thaden
These words, spoken by the great aviatrix, Louise Thaden, are so real, not just in flight but life. Sometimes taking risks bring excitement, but one would be lying if they didn't admit there is also so fear in that.
As we begin the work for the Matty Project, there is a lot of excitement over what is to come. I am excited to see the expansion to our current exhibits. I am excited to dedicate the Black Aviators exhibit in Rip Gooch's honor. But it also brings some fear as to making them the best exhibits for our museum. Fear shouldn't paralyze us, but rather challenge us to rise to the occasion. In the coming months, we will begin to see this reality take place, and I am glad that you are along for the ride!
Sincerely,
Ben Sauceda
