  • In the U.S., the lifetime prevalence of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is 6.4%.
  • For clients with eating disorders, the lifetime prevalence of PTSD ranges from 16-66%, depending on eating disorder diagnosis.

In 2015, Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) was recognized as an effective practice for the treatment of PTSD. Clients report benefits in as few as 1-5 sessions, yet it is not a well-known intervention within the eating disorder field. This presentation will introduce you to ART, how it is used in a clinical treatment center and share outcome data from a sample of clients living with co-occurring PTSD and eating disorders. Case studies will be presented and a question and answer discussion will follow.
