The business meeting will start promptly at 5 pm, and we’ll wrap up by drawing names for the door prizes. Each family that RSVPs and attends will receive one “Meal-To-Go” to share.

CANDIDATE BIOGRAPHIES


The following individuals are candidates for the credit union Board of Directors. There are three positions up for election on the Board. Each position is for a three-year term. Additional nominations will be taken from the floor at the annual meeting. (Candidates are listed in alphabetical order.)

 

Bridget Anderson

Bridget has been a member of QOCU for 14 years and joined the Board of Directors in 2021. She is currently the overtime coordinator for Ready to Eat Processing at Quaker, where she has been an employee for 18 years. Bridget has been married to her husband, Maurice, for 12 years, and they have a 12-year-old son, Noah. In her free time, Bridget enjoys spending time with her family and friends, traveling, snow skiing, game nights with friends, running, and watching Noah play football.

 

JoAnn Elliott

JoAnn has been a QOCU member for 33 years, and a QOCU board member since 2006. During her time on the Board, JoAnn has served as the employee advocate and has served on the Audit and Credit Committees. JoAnn is currently serving as the President of the QOCU Board. JoAnn worked for Quaker Oats for 43 years and is enjoying her retirement. She still volunteers for the Quaker Annual Children’s Holiday Party each year, as well as for the Quarter Century Banquet. She and her husband Denny of 48 years, like to spend their time doing yard work, hanging out with their Labrador Jake, and spending time with their 3 children and 9 grandchildren.

 

Ken Owens

Ken has been a QOCU member for over 41 years and has served on the board of directors for 27 years. He is a 2009 Quaker Oats Company “Retiree” where he worked for 29 years as a supervisor in various departments. Ken is originally from Houston, Texas and a graduate of Prairie View A&M University with a degree in Industrial Technology. He has also served on other boards within the community, including His Hand Free Clinic, The Academy For Scholastic And Personal Success, and Proverbs Ministry. Ken is also the Kitchen Coordinator for New Covenant Bible Church, from which he caters many events in the church and the community as well as instructing Mission of Hope Shelter in preparing nutritious meals for minimal expense. Currently Ken is serving as Board Chairman, a position that he has held for 6 terms or more. Ken has a passion to serve those in need and states that QOCU gives him the opportunity to do so.
