Build Language Skills On the Go!

It may sometimes seem like a difficult task to think of language activities to play with your child, but it doesn't have to be! You can use everyday moments and activities to encourage language and communication skills and also incorporate quick and easy language games into your everyday life.

Setting aside time in your days to sit down and devote 100% of your attention to playing with your child will be extremely effective in helping him or her increase speech and language skills. But if your time seems to slip away or isn't as structured as you would like it to be, this post offers some suggestions on how to incorporate some communication/language building tasks into your everyday routine.

April is a Big Month for Kid's Creek!

Autism Awareness Month

The month of April is National Autism Awareness Month! Autism Spectrum Disorder now affects one in every 68 children in the US, and activities this month promote autism awareness, inclusion and self-determination for all.

Occupational Therapy Month

Our occupational therapists work with children to help them participate in their unique occupations (school related activities, activities of daily living, and importantly, play!) An occupational therapist understands how social-emotional, physical, cognitive, communication, and adaptive behavior difficulties make it difficult for children to participate fully in everyday life activities. Some skill areas that pediatric occupational therapists address include play, fine motor, handwriting, self-help, sensory processing, and visual-motor skills.Take a few minutes to  "meet" all of our occupational therapists.
