Get to Know You: Emily McCabe

In Get to Know You, we ask our staff a few questions to give our families a peek into who they are as people, not simply providers. This month's Get to Know You features
Physical Therapist Emily McCabe.

Who is your hero? My mother is definitely my hero, she is strong, courageous, and extremely smart. Her support and example are a huge part of why I am where I am today!

What is your favorite thing about your career? Being a physical therapist mixes all of the things that I love together. I love physical activity and helping kids reach their highest potential through movement and fun. I am very passionate about learning and this career is one where I am surrounded by so many other intelligent therapists who continuously teach me new things!

What is your proudest accomplishment? My proudest accomplishment is becoming a PT. It was so challenging but it has been the most rewarding thing I have ever done!

Have you ever had a nickname? What is it? My nickname growing up was my maiden name, "Walters". It was always both my younger brothers nickname and mine, so it got confusing at times! Some of my oldest friends still call me that even though I am married and have a new name!

If you had to describe yourself as an animal, which one would it be? I have always loved dolphins. They are very intuitive and smart animals and I strive to display those qualities in my profession and personal life. I also love to swim! :)
