Dear Parents of KidLife children,

Happy New Year!

I want to start off by saying, “Thank you.” Thank you for sharing your wonderful children with us on Sunday mornings. They are each a blessing to us and we love growing in Christ next to each one of them.

When the New Year comes around people think of change. Resolutions. Goals. As the Director of Children’s Ministries I also think about change and goals. As we continue on this journey of growth together, we see our numbers increasing (Praise the Lord!), we see more relationships being made, families gathering together, and overall growth in our walk of faith together.

The past few months have brought so many things. We have seen an increase in our numbers as well. That is a wonderful thing, however, we are beginning to outgrow our current KidLife Worship situation.

Here’s my plan.

We will be encouraging children ages 3rd grade and older to attend the service upstairs. Moving one grade up to help accommodate numbers. We will also be moving kindergarteners over to the elementary room for worship time. That means KidLife Worship will now be 3yrs./4yrs./DK in room 101 and kindergarten through 2nd grade in room 112. Check-in is still in the same place. We are hoping this will help even out the numbers in both rooms. We strive to have a great children’s ministry. Lots of prayer and thought has gone into this small change. We hope you all understand.

Remember all kids 3 years old through 5th grade are welcome to attend Sunday school, immediately following the service. We also allow kids 10 years and older to serve as helpers in nursery and preschool worship. There are Sermon Notes located on the children’s table in the lobby that kids can fill out and return to the jar, after 4 are received a treat will be left for them in your family file!

In closing, if God has laid it on your heart to become more involved at RRC, I would love to meet up with you about your role as a leader in our children’s ministry!

Thank you,
Beth Jennings
Director of Children’s Ministry

We encourage families to worship upstairs together and send your kids down when they are dismissed. However, kids are welcome to come to KidLife 10 minutes prior to service.

Last Week's Verse : “For a child is born to us, a son is given to us. The government will rest on his shoulders. And he will be called: Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace” (Isaiah 9:6).

Lesson for January 6: God Hears Hannah's Prayer for a Son

Read: 1 Samuel 1:9-28

In This Passage: Hannah doesn’t have a baby, and that makes her sad. She prays that God will give her the desire of her heart: a son. She promises that if God answers her prayer, she’ll give her son back to God. God hears and answers Hannah’s prayer, and she gives her son back to God when he’s weaned. God hears our prayers, too.

Bible Point: God hears our prayers.

Summary Verse: “Live in harmony with each other. Don’t be too proud to enjoy the company of ordinary people. And don’t think you know it all!” (Romans 12:16).
