God is doing something new in Costa Rica!
by Adam Ormord, KidZ at Heart Chief Program Officer
As I write this article, I hear energized and refreshed voices greeting one another, laughing together, and loving really well. Our team of twelve is here in Costa Rica to present KidZ at Heart teacher training modules for the first time.
The folks from Christ’s Church in Effingham, Illinois, have stepped up to this new beginning in Costa Rica in a
big way. Seven of us have been trained to present the KidZ at Heart materials, while five others simply sensed God's leading to offer their support.
During the trainings, we are offering the first two modules from the KidZ Teacher Certificate Program in two locations in and around Heredia, just outside the capital city of San José. Amazingly, people from all over the country have traveled great distances to participate. Over thirty people from a dozen churches are responding to the invitation to learn how to nurture “great children” who love God with all their heart, soul, mind, strength, and relationships.
Although our training is not yet complete, we can already see God's blessings. We have heard consistent testimonies from those being trained, confirming their gratefulness in learning how to help children fall deeply in love with Jesus. We even witnessed a teacher put what she has learned into practice on Sunday morning.
There is a massive need in Costa Rica for training, not just for teachers but also for parents. Last night, a pastor from a church in Heredia told me that we need to present this training to 1,000 people next year! Please join with us in praying for those being trained and for more trainings to happen in Costa Rica.
