The Kids' Scoop from the Swoop
Bringing the Library to You!
Preschool Programming for Minds in the Making
All human development occurs in the context of human relationships. The complex skills of speech, language, & communication require parents and caregivers to be actively engaged with their child. Caring, attentive interaction with young children is brain food for developing minds.

Environments rich in sounds, words, and interactions provide young children with the tools necessary to master their primary language. And while, unfortunately, opportunities for interactions are limited, we can participate in creating an environment rich with sounds, words, songs, games, stories, excitement and opportunities for your child to contribute and succeed through our programming for preschoolers a/k/a Early Literacy Programs.

During this phase of COVID-19, our Early Literacy programming includes virtual programs for babies and parents, toddlers, preschoolers, a Spanish storytime, and a music and movement program. We are also looking forward to a live family storytime that will be conducted on the Library's green space, weather permitting.

We would love to be a part of your child's routine, giving them opportunities to interact with Library Staff and observe their young peers, as well as support their language, communication, and literacy development. Check out our program descriptions below for more information.
