Our Response to the Oneonta COVID-19 Outbreak
September 2, 2020
Good afternoon,

Earlier this week, Springbrook informed you of the recent spike in COVID-19 infections in the Oneonta area. Our administrative and clinical teams have monitored the situation daily. Unfortunately, cases continue to rise.

Due to this local outbreak, and in keeping with our proactive and successful approach to this pandemic, we have decided to postpone the start of in-person learning for our preschool program. However, in accordance with Governor Cuomo's order to maintain childcare for essential staff, our daycare will remain open for the benefit of our community and the many parents who have returned to (or never left) in-person work.

Given the rising infection rate in Oneonta, we understand if you have reservations about sending your child to daycare at this time. If you prefer to keep your child home, we ask that you inform us as soon as possible so that we can make adequate plans for staffing.

Please email [email protected] or call 607-353-7272 Ext. 2900 to inform us of your plans. If we do not hear from you by Tuesday, September 8, we will plan to see your child in daycare on Wednesday, September 9.

We will continue to monitor the outbreak closely and make decisions regarding in-person learning and daycare offerings based on infection rates and guidance from our local department of health and BOCES offices.

Thank you so much for your partnership and continued understanding as we navigate the uncertainty of this situation.

Sincerely,
Traci Lanner, Director
The School at Springbrook
