Congratulations to the 2018 winners of the Winder Noon Day Lions Club Peace Poster Contest. This year the theme was "Kindness Matters". Who better than our youth to remind the world of this powerful and important message? All 4 middle schools participated. Bringing Curriculum to Life

Third graders at Holsenbeck Elementary School took a field trip to the Native American Festival and Pow-Wow at Stone Mountain Park. Students were able to learn about Native American culture including dance, crafts, and traditional native dwellings such as tipis. Demonstrators shared primitive skills such as fire starting, weapon making, and open fire cooking. The students also saw wildlife presentations showcasing birds and reptiles. The historic buildings and homes of Stone Mountain's Historic Square were open for students to explore. This trip brought the social studies curriculum to life for our students!
