It's Giving Friday!
Hello - Today's a day to think about what you can give to others. "Needs" exist in many forms and we all have the ability to help - whether it's with our time, energy or financial assistance.

Many emergency relief and community nonprofits are in need of contributions right now. If you haven't already done so and are able, today is the perfect time to donate to an organization that you care about and know is doing good and important work.

As we all know, giving doesn't always require money. Give someone a phone call check-in, give someone you love an unexpected compliment. If you're on social media, use your voice to boost someone up right now - give them the gift of your support. Show them you "see" them. If you are a parent of school-aged children, consider reaching out to their teachers and sharing your appreciation for all the incredibly hard work they are putting into figuring out how to continue your child's education right now. (see the bottom of this newsletter for Westborough TV links to the recent teacher parades organized by our elementary schools).

We also want to take some time today to show Kindness to the Earth (even with the rain!). Make a commitment to do something that will have a positive impact on the earth. Use some time at home to clean out your clothes and linen closets, setting aside some things for a future Westborough Girl Scouts Textile Drive. The Westborough Community Land Trust has also decided (with Board of Health approval) to move ahead with a modified plan for the annual WCLT Town-wide Earth Day Clean-up. One of the amazing things about giving? It brings so much in return and science shows it makes us happier. Need proof? We offer two great articles as proof: " 5 Ways Giving Is Good for You ," (Greater Good Science Center) and " Our Bodies are Chronically in 'Threat Mode' – But Being Kind Recalibrates Our Nervous System ," (Big Think).

So, get out there and GIVE.

Thank you!

Many of the materials needed for these bird feeders can be found in your home, recycling bin or pantry.
