From Survival to Service

Jaimie Bell, Executive Director, was featured this week as a guest columnist in The Republican Newspaper. In her column, she shares a powerful and deeply personal reflection on reframing addiction, reclaiming identity, and the transformative impact of kindness.

We invite you to read her full story and learn more about the experiences that shape the mission and heart behind Reflection House.

Reflection House Growth Continues

Since opening in September 2024, Reflection House has grown in response to the real needs of residents and families in Garrett County. What began as a safe, structured recovery residence has evolved into a broader system of support, one that continues well beyond a resident’s stay and reflects the belief that long-term recovery is strengthened through connection, opportunity, and community involvement.

Milestones of Hope: Two Powerful Recovery Anniversaries

Today, we celebrate two powerful recovery milestones within our Reflection House family. Milestones that represent courage, commitment, and the life-changing power of recovery.

✨ Amber — 13 Years

House Manager, Reflection House

✨ Susan — 5 Years

Peer Recovery Specialist

Two separate journeys. Two separate victories.

Both a living reminder that recovery works.

Amber’s 13 years represent more than sobriety — they represent leadership, stability, and the safe, structured environment she helps create every day for the women in our home. Her experience brings wisdom and strength to every resident who walks through our doors.

Susan’s 5 years represent resilience, hope, and the power of peer support. As a Peer Recovery Specialist, she walks alongside women not just with compassion, but with lived experience. She is proof that healing is possible.

At Reflection House, recovery isn’t just something we talk about, it’s something we live. When women see leaders who have walked the road before them, hope becomes tangible.

These milestones aren’t just personal victories.

They are reminders to every woman we serve: Freedom is possible. Healing is real. Recovery works.

Please join us in celebrating Amber and Susan today. Their courage strengthens our mission and inspires everyone around them.

How to Help

This Valentine’s season, show love where it truly matters.

At Reflection House, love looks like clean clothes, warm meals, and a safe, supportive space for the women we serve. You can help us spread that love by purchasing a few much-needed items from our needs list.

Every item donated helps our home run smoothly and lets us focus on what matters most: healing, growth, and hope.

Right now, our greatest needs are:

  • Toilet paper
  • Paper towels
  • Laundry detergent
  • Dishwasher products
  • Disposable gloves
  • Tissues
  • Disinfecting spray & wipes

You can view and purchase items from our registry [here].

Thank you for loving our community so well!

Reflection House is 100% funded through grants, donations and community events. We couldn't do it without your incredible support!
