Summer 2025

I hope that you are enjoying the summer and it's hard to believe that I'm already six months into this wonderful position of Executive Director! It was a busy Spring for us as we have continued to see a lot of need here in Western North Carolina. We have distributed over $3.6 Million in assistance since Hurricane Helene hit WNC last September and we continue to see that need each day. Our staff are amazing, and they love the work that they do to help our neighbors. We continue the heritage programs that Eblen is known for: rental, mortgage, utility and medical assistance, eyeglass, gas and Goodwill vouchers plus our annual drives like Tools For Schools which is coming up in August. Our Helene outreach continues and through your generous donations we have been able to help get water restored through new wells and repaired lines for families in McDowell and Madison Counties. We have supported the rebuilding efforts in Swannanoa and Black Mountain through some great partnerships with recovery groups and contractors. We are also continuing to help the Craigtown community in Fairview reshape the landscaping of their land for the future of the families that live there as well as helping families in Bat Cave get new wells as that hard hit area continues to recover in Henderson County. We're looking forward to our biggest event of the year on July 14 and 15th, the Football in July Tailgate Party and the Wicked Weed-Brad Johnson Celebrity Golf Classic. This is one of the highlights of the year and I hope to see you at Walnut Cove as we raise some critical funds to help keep our work going through the back half of this year and into 2026. Please keep us in mind as you look at your charitable giving and I wish you a summer filled with fun, relaxation and some time to make memories with family and friends.

Eblen Continues to Help Rebuild

Eblen presented a $50,000 check to CORE (Community Organized Relief Effort), an organization that brings immediate relief and recovery to underserved communities. This contribution empowers them to continue to rebuild after the hurricane.

THANK YOU, SIX POINTS SPORTS ACADEMY NC!

Once again, the Six Points Sports

Academy has chosen to support Eblen from their Tikkun Olam Day of Service and 5K. A $15,600.47 check was presented on June 28 to support the ongoing assistance for hurricane relief. They also donated 900 hygiene kits and 300 backpacks.

Beginning July 7th, our local Ingles stores will be accepting $5 donations that will help us purchase additional items needed for our Tools for Schools Giveaway!
