Mr. Ackermann presented the draft of the District's #KingsStrong Strategic Plan. The #KingsStrong Committee put together action plans for each section of the plan. He said everything we do in the District will align to this plan for direction which will help our students academically and with their social-emotional needs. The Board approved the plan.
He also informed the Board that he will not be recommending a facilities bond campaign for May 2019. He noted that the Long Range Facilities Team wants to make sure they do their due diligence and take the time needed to address the concerns of the community from the Thoughtexchange. The committee will also be looking at permitting, road improvements, soil samples, pedestrian traffic, and making sure we are building for the future. Mr. Ackermann is planning on asking the Board to place a bond issue on the ballot in either August or November of 2019.
Lastly, Mr. Ackermann brought up a discussion item regarding changing the regular Board meeting times from 6:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. The Board will discuss it and will need to make a decision at the Organizational Meeting in January 2019.
The Board approved the following:
- Field Trips for Women's Lacrosse and Boys Basketball
- #KingsStrong Strategic Plan
- Change in November 2019 In-Service Date to November 1, 2019. Click here for 2019-2020 School Calendar.
