What is Season of Pawsibilities?
Season of Pawsibilities is the Dubuque Regional Humane Society’s (DRHS) annual appeal to build a community of unconditional love by connecting people and pets. This is achieved by engaging our community in raising much needed funds to create new pathways home for the animals at the shelter, recruit new volunteers and create greater awareness about the DRHS in our tri-state community.

Spinning with Thanks
Thanks to the generosity from the Dubuque Racing Association , the McDonough Foundation , and the 100+ Women Who Care Dubuque , the DRHS was able to retrofit our existing canine and feline laundries and acquire new commercial washing machines and dryers for the shelter! Retrofitting the facility and purchasing and installing commercial laundry machines has eliminated the need to replace other laundry machines, on average up to six sets annually, due to the heavy use from the constant need for clean bedding and toys. The new commercial laundry saves our staff valuable time allowing them to focus more on animal care, community relations, and adoption processes. In addition, the machines will reduce utility expenses, minimize water waste, and shrink the DRHS’s carbon footprint. Thank you for all of your gracious support in making this project possible!
Tails Around Town
The DRHS appreciates the individuals and organizations throughout the tri-states that generously sponsor creative programs to help raise money for our lost, abandoned and unwanted animals. Keep these pet-friendly activities on your calendar and support our animal champions!
Dubuque Halloween Parade
Come join the DRHS walk in the 2018 Halloween Parade ! Parade lineup begins at 5:30 PM in Jackson Park. The parade will start at 6:30 PM. If you would like to walk with the DRHS we encourage you to dress up as a companion animal!

Please note in adverse weather conditions, the parade will be canceled.
Volunteer Foster Parents
A volunteer foster parent assists in the rehabilitation of an animal by providing
in-home care. An animal may need a foster home for a variety of reasons including: age, illness, injury, and socialization, or to help provide needed space at the shelter for incoming animals. Foster parents provide a clean, safe, loving environment for the animals in their homes. The DRHS furnishes ALL supplies needed to care for foster animals. This includes food, litter, bedding, toys enrichment items, and medical care. Should you have questions about the program or would like to become a foster parent please contact the DRHS at 563-652-6766 or email [email protected].
