Kissimmee Gateway Airport’s Air Traffic Control Manager, Glenn “Huck” Huckeba, Receives ATCA Award
The Kissimmee Gateway Airport (ISM) proudly recognizes Glenn “Huck” Huckeba, Air Traffic Control Manager, for receiving the Air Traffic Control Association (ATCA) Outstanding Civilian Manager of the Year Award 2020. 

“In my 27-year career working with other air traffic managers, I can tell Glenn Huck has special qualities allowing him to relate well with others and professionally manage his team of air traffic controllers. I frequently visit with the airport tenants and hear every time what admiration they have for Huck and his operations,” said Kissimmee Gateway Airport aviation director, Shaun Germolus.
Every year, the ATCA recognizes individuals worldwide and organizations engaged in developing, operating, maintaining the air traffic control system, and keeping a safe flying environment for everyone. Huck was recognized virtually during this year’s conference on December 9, 2020.

“I was very, very lucky to have a massive amount of support, not only from the airport, but from the city of Kissimmee.” Huck said. “To get an award like this after 44 years of working on airplanes is very humbling.”

"Let’s Talk Aviation" Virtual Roundtable Brings Aviation Experts Together to Discuss the Industry Post-Pandemic
Economic development officials, tenants at Kissimmee Gateway Airport and aviation experts from around the Sunshine State came together on October 29 to participate in "Let's Talk Aviation", an educational services of virtual roundtables, hosted by our airport, to create a dialogue around what's next for the industry in Florida post-pandemic.

"We were thrilled to be able to bring together such an amazing caliber of experts for our first virtual roundtable," said Aviation Director Shaun Germolus, who also moderated the discussion. "These are unprecedented times that we're in now and to have our state's Commerce Secretary, and our other panelists, engaged in discussion about the future of aviation in Florida was an amazing and productive experience."

Panelists included Florida Commerce Secretary Jamal Sowell, who also serves at President and CEO of Enterprise Florida; Belinda Kirkegard, the City of Kissimmee's economic development director, former mayor of Kissimmee Jose Alvarez; Lisa Lyle Waters, President and CEO of the Florida Airports Council; and Milo Zonka, Vice President of Sheltair, an FBO located at Kissimmee Gateway Airport.
