Kissimmee Airport Partners With Florida Department of Transportation for New Security Enhancement Project
The City of Kissimmee will receive grant funding from the Florida Department of Transportation Aviation Office to implement a Security Enhancement Project at the airport. The project is designed to improve lighting near the air traffic control tower and will consist of replacing all vehicle gates and installing an access control system at each vehicle gate. Enhancing security and accountability, the access control system will provide an access card to each individual requiring airfield access through the vehicle gates. To obtain an access card, individuals will need to have authorization through an approved lease agreement with the City of Kissimmee.

Companies will designate an Authorized Signatory who will vet and authorize employees and subtenants to apply for and receive access cards. The Authorized Signatory will also be responsible for maintaining a list of valid card holders and inform Airport Management of any immediate change in status. Access card applications will be completed by each individual and signed by the Authorized Signatory and delivered to the Airport Office. This information will be approved by the Airport Director and then entered into the access control computer system for activation. Upon a security briefing and signing the acknowledgement form, the individual may obtain their access card. For more information, please review the Access Control Card Rules and Procedures here. Should you have any questions or need more information, please contact Airport Secretary Darlene Roucoulet at (407) 518-2505 or via e-mail at [email protected].
