Tomorrow, Friday, from 4 to 7 p.m., Kiwanis will have our pop-up tent at Town Hall Green for the town's observance of Earth Day, called Green on the Green. The first Earth Day was April 22, 1970.
Jennifer Barron and Phyllis Gary will join me representing Kiwanis at the event. Any other Kiwanians who want to join us are welcome.
Kiwanis will be among many groups recognized for their grassroots efforts on behalf of our local environment.

This Saturday, April 27, at 9 a.m., after our regular breakfast meeting, more than 20 Kiwanians already signed up for Green Up Day litter patrols and several other groups will join us for the litter patrols.
Also, we have our two guests from Eversource Sam Berg and Matt Hellman, both nearby Easton residents. They will bring trees.

MILLIE BEST ENVIRONMENTAL AWARD | |
Last Saturday, Bill McKinney presented the Weston Kiwanis Millie Best Environmental Award to Wildlife in Crisis. Wildlife in Crisis founders Dara's and Peter Reid’s daughter Willow Vrooman Reid accepted the award. Also pictured is Josiah Vrooman (U.S.Army, active), her husband.
Willow, a recent graduate from St. Lawrence University with a degree in Environmental Science, is the volunteer facility manager at Wildlife in Crisis furthering the Reid tradition of giving to the community.

Orthopaedic & Neurosurgery Specialists Re-ups Sponsorship | |
President Amy reports Orthopaedic & Neurosurgery Specialists, PLLC (ONS) has signed on again to sponsor the 13th Weston Kiwanis Reservoir Run half marathon and 5K foot races and kids fun run on Sunday, October 13, 2024. Thank you ONS!
ONS joins JetBlue as a sponsor who has committed to date. Kiwanians actively recruiting sponsors for our signature event are Reed Ameden, Harry Falber, Amy Jenner, Keith Johnson, Dallas Kersey, Paul Schultz, and Harry Spencer.
We need more sponsors! If you have any ideas or leads, please let any of your fellow Kiwanis members above know.

CHILDREN'S FUND RECOGNIZES OUR ANNUAL CLUB GIFT | |
The Kiwanis Children's Fund (KCF) recognized a recent contribution that was received as our club's annual club gift. The Kiwanis Club of Weston and club members have donated over $41,000 to the fund since 1997. The most recent gift for the 2022/2023 Kiwanis year was made by three members, Dan Baker, Bob Uzenoff, and a member wishing to remain anonymous.
KCF has acknowledged our gift with an Annual Club Gift banner patch to apply to one of our banners when space or a new banner allows.

Breakfast, 2024 Service and Leadership Awards, and business meeting. All members are welcome. This will also be the monthly club board meeting.
