Kiwanis Flag Top Cellular Telephone Tower

With the last regulatory hurdle, approval by the Connecticut Siting Council (CSC), behind us, a crew from General Construction Crane Service was on hand at town hall Monday to position the Kiwanis flag and pole topping the 190-foot cellular telephone tower.

The display of the Kiwanis flag supports one of the two pillars of our 2024 strategic plan, creating greater visibility in the community. Although CSC wouldn't permit our lighting of the flag at night, the prominent position in the center of town at Town Hall will augment awareness of Kiwanis and our many community service and philanthropic works.

Members visit Rick Amill

by Harry Spencer

We had a nice visit with Rick Amill [March 27} at his new fancy place. It was great to see him - and he is sharp as ever.

Unfortunately Tom Watson and George Moraitis had already scooted by the time we snapped the picture. Bill Brady participated from Florida via Zoom. Clockwise from Bill Brady on the computer screen are pictured Steve Thomas, Tom Glass, Dallas Kersey, Juan Negroni, Rick Amill (seated), Dan Gilbert, Frank Ferrara, and Harry Spencer.

Times like this bear witness to the value in our living out The Objects of Kiwanis.

...

Object 5 - To provide, through Kiwanis clubs, a practical means to form enduring friendships, to render altruistic service, and to build better communities.
