LAST WEEK'S PROGRAM

JOURNALISM AT WHS

Weston High School Warhorse co-editors-in-chief Katarina Todorovich and Mia Tomanelli at our breakfast meeting last Saturday. We learned about the history, operations, and production of the student print newspaper.

Kiwanis has provided funds to support increased print edition production and grow readership beyond the school.

WHS will add a journalism class to its curriculum in the next year.

CARING FOR OUR VETERANS

Kiwanians put together a Super Bowl lunch feast for veterans residing at Homes for the Brave and PFC Nicholas A. Madaras Home for Women Veterans in Bridgeport. Weston Kiwanians signed up for over 30 menu items and brought them to Norfield Congregational Church parish hall Sunday morning. Several members drove the feast to Bridgeport, decorated the dining area, and served the residents. The Kiwanis Club of Bridgeport supplied beverages, and The Kiwanis Club of Norwalk brought individual snack packs for the festive day. Weston Kiwanian Jane A. Young-Anglim organized the first of what has become an annual event in 2011.

The Kiwanis Club of Bridgeport supplied drinks.

The Kiwanis Club of Norwalk provided individual snack bags, pictured here.

Kiwanians served residents, the first time since the pandemic.
