12:30 p.m. Lunch and discussion at The Lunch Box with Jennifer Coffey, CFRE, Kiwanis Children's Fund Development Officer for the New England & Bermuda Kiwanis district.

Weston Kiwanians, leaders and members, are welcome to join (Dutch treat). Contact Bob Uzenoff if you are interested or have any questions.

Jennifer works at the Kiwanis International headquarters in Indianapolis. She will visit Weston on Wednesday to meet club leaders and members and share Kiwanis's gratitude for our club’s past support and the total impact we have made together.

Jennifer is eager to learn more about Weston Kiwanis's work in the community and to share details about the new Kiwanis initiative, The Possibility Project.

Through the Kiwanis Children's Fund, US$2.25 addresses the needs of one child. Imagine the possibilities if we raised US$25 million - enough for Kiwanis clubs and members to serve 10 million children around the world. That's the goal of The Possibility Project. Join the first fundraising campaign that solely supports Kiwanis and the children we serve.

LAST WEEK

First 2025 Reservoir Run Flyer Distribution

Story and photographs by Dan Gilbert

On an absolutely gorgeous Mother’s Day morning, Harvey Luft, Tom Johnson, Harry Spencer, and Dan Gilbert headed to Ridgefield to distribute Reservoir Run flyers at the “Run Like A Mother” 5K.

The sun was warm, and the sky was deep blue on Sunday morning as just under 1,000 women and a few men ran through Ridgefield. Our flyer distribution team was challenged because the race did not provide a central parking area. So, Harvey, Tom, Harry, and Dan walked from shopping center to shopping center, the town hall, and the library.

As Dan walked from one of the parking areas after the race, one of the runners drove up to him. The car had one of our flyers tucked under a windshield wiper. The man noticed that Dan was carrying flyers. The driver’s side window lowered. The man said, with a smile on his face, “I already have three of these flyers. I don’t want any more. I just want to go home.”

The runners, our team, and our club had a great day.”

The 2025 Run Like a Mother race supports the Ridgefield Library’s Noreen L. Papa “Mothers: Live Your Life” Fund. Contributions to the fund support library programs and collections dedicated to women's health and wellness, specifically to educate mothers to care for themselves so they can care for others.

Kiwanians Support Friends of Lachat Program Fundraiser

Kiwanians Karen Chrisley and Harry Falber supported Lachat Town Farm's fundraiser last weekend and this coming weekend to support programming at the Juliana Lachat Preserve.

The fundraiser is ALICE: The Trail to Wonderland, a magical journey through a strange land with Lachat Farm transformed into an immersive theatrical experience. It's a mad, playful 1980s-inspired reimagining of Alice in Wonderland. "Filled with original music and familiar hits, this is not your grandmother’s Alice!"

Karen supplied these pictures and she reports: "The griffin is all Harry, and he is terrific in each of his three scenes. I am a guest service guide for the immersive experience, start to finish."
