LACHAT TOWN FARM PROUD KIWANIS PARTNER

By Anita Dinwoodie via Facebook

Lachat Town Farm is so honored to partner with the Kiwanis Club of Weston. These unsung heroes quietly go about our community doing amazing things. In our case, they generously offered their time, tools, and talent to assemble and finish five outdoor tables for the farm! Thank you! And we are also so grateful to Susan and Philip Gaynes for their generous donation of funding for these beautiful tables!

Lachat Town Farm is not part of the town budget - we are not supported by tax dollars - instead, we rely on the generosity of folks like Susan and Philip and the Kiwanians.

Anita Dinwoodie is the executive director of Friends of Lachat, Inc. at the Lachat Town Farm at the Juliana Lachat Preserve. Steve Thomas organized and provided a major effort for this project. Barbara Gross brought this story to the attention of Kiwaniscope.

LAST SATURDAY

GETTING TO KNOW YOUR FELLOW KIWANIAN (GTKYFK)

Last week Our own Michael A. Schwartz, M.D. provided the latest installment of Getting to Know Your Fellow Kiwanian (GTKYFK).

Michael's middle initial is A. but should be M. for modest - here's his author information from the jacket of the book, which is scheduled for publication on June 26:

Michael Alan Schwartz, MD is retired as Joint Professor of Psychiatry and Humanities in Medicine at Texas A&M Health Science Center School of Medicine. A Board-Certified Psychiatrist, he is a Distinguished Life Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association and a Founding Editor and Editor-in-Chief Emeritus of the journal Philosophy, Ethics and Humanities in Medicine. Presently Dr. Schwartz continues practicing psychiatry as well as writing and editing psychiatric books and articles. His work focuses on advancing pluralistic, person and people-centered approaches to psychiatric assessment, care and treatment.

Foster shared goings on at Danbury and fielded questions on their June 1 bicycle safety event. See more about this event in the division news further below.
