Dan Lerner with the impressive results of Dan's and Harry Spencer's litter pickup along Weston Road on Green Up Day, Saturday, April 27, 2024.
Before heading out on Green Up Day, Dan and Harry asked Green Up Day chair Tom Failla if there was going to be any training. Tom assured them: "You'll pick it up as you go along. "

| Triumph Tulip (Tulipa 'Kiwanis') | |
Who knew? Weston Kiwanis 2016/2017 President Glenn Van Deusen wrote Kiwaniscope last Friday:
Diana and I are in the Netherlands this week for the tulip festival and look what we discovered! I wonder how many Kiwanians know this “interesting but often little-known fact?”
Ciao,
Glenn
"Digging" into this further, Kiwaniscope learned this from the Rotteveel Bulb Company, a wholesale supplier of flower bulbs and perennials directly shipped from the Netherlands to the United States.
This fragrant white tulip is great for pot production. Tulip Kiwanis is very suitable for early Easter forcing. It has sturdy stems and large ivory-white flowers. Easy to grow and reliable!

KIWANIS TULIP FESTIVAL
In searching for information on Kiwanis Tulips, Kiwaniscope learned that last weekend was the Kiwanis Tulip Festival in Holland, New York (Erie County), a three-day event with games, rides, food, arts and crafts show, parade, Tulip Queen Pageant, beer tent, and live music.
The celebration starts before the weekend with a Boys & Girls Club 5k run/walk, an elementary school parade, the Upstate Auto Group Classic Car Show, and more. Find many pictures on their Facebook page.
An impressive community-engaging and fundraising event. Holland Kiwanis (membership is 68) Secretary Larry Johnson reports this year's event had probably record attendance (the beer tent almost ran out of hot dogs the first night) and fundraising.
