STUDENT DESKS DELIVERED!
Past President Frank's vision of providing needy students with study desks became reality when Weston Kiwanis members delivered the first 25 of over 50 desks to Wilbur Cross Elementary School in Bridgeport last Saturday after the club meeting.
At the height of the pandemic, President Frank saw plans for foldable student desks online and thought - we can make those!
Frank found Home Depot a willing partner to donate materials and no shortage of members willing to help in the manufacture of the desks.
Soon Frank had converted his garage to a woodworking shop. There, the wood elves worked their magic over several months.
Carpenters included Steve Thomas, Bill Brady, Dan Gilbert, Harry Spencer, Reed Ameden, Denise Murillo, Hutch Hutchins, Jim McMorris, Dan Lerner, and Woody Bliss.
