FOOD DRIVE

Weston Kiwanis is conducting a food and healthcare products drive this Saturday at the Weston Shopping Center, giving Westonites the opportunity to help their neighbors in need; Weston's Food Pantry is the beneficiary.
I'd like two Kiwanians at Lily’s and one at the Weston Pharmacy on each shift. We’ll have two shifts: 9:30 - 11:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.- 1:30 p.m.. I've invited Weston High School Key Clubbers to help. Please email me if you’ll volunteer for one of the shifts.

Members and guests arriving early for last Saturday's meeting were asked to wait outside pending a decision by Norfield Church on the status of the parish hall. Chef Bill on arrival found the parish hall had been vandalized and reported it to police. Norfield allowed us to have our meeting in the Christian Education building.
Kiwanians rallied typically to the challenge, undeterred and flexible. Chef Bill brewed and brought coffee and a member got breakfast sandwiches from Lunchbox, members set up the room Jim McMorris rounded up and configured an LCD projector for West Point Cadet Knox Watson, our speaker. Knox wowed members with his presence and presentation, giving no small measure of credit to how the fine young man Knox has grown to be to dad and President-elect Tom Watson. The scheduled foundation trustees and officers meeting was not held.

Past President Dallas Kersey ran across this cartoon organizing his office. "It's more relevant this year/holiday than I have EVER seen it before. Tons of catalogs every day." (From the cartoon originally appearing in The Wall Street Journal.) | |
