Give thanks - NO MEETING the Saturday after Thanksgiving!

The following week we celebrate Charter Day on Thursday, First Friday, and on Saturday, a breakfast meeting with a program and the December4 club board meeting following.

NEWEST KIWANIAN

President Denise (left below) inducted Harry Falber (to her right) at last Saturday's meeting.
Past president Woody Bliss and Dallas Kersey sponsored Harry's application. The board admitted Harry to membership at its October meeting .

Membership Chair Jennifer Barron, (right above) presented the club's newest member with his pin, name badge, and cap at his induction.

Moments later, Harry posting publicly on his Facebook page posted the following with a photograph of his name badge:

"Fortunate and Happy to now be a part of an organization dedicated to building community- both globally and locally in 6883

In other new from last week:

  • after breakfast, members approved the foundation budget for 2021/2022 including $18,050 in grants with $1,800 increase to the fund.

  • Past Presidents Steve and Frank resumed manufacture of another 25 student desks following the delivery the week before of 25 to Wilbur Cross School in Bridgeport. SchoolDigger ranks this school 514 out of 515 in elementary schools in Connecticut.
COFFEE SERVICE RESTORED!
Ever wonder what Past President Frank does in his spare time? Well yesterday he was at Kiwanis's meeting home, Norfield Congregational Church parish hall installing their new coffee station, replacing one that failed a few weeks ago. Thank you, Frank!

Many thanks to Emmanuel Episcopal Church for the loan of a coffee urn supporting our continued coffee service in the interim.
