LAST WEEK

Last Saturday, we enjoyed our first Kiwanis meeting since June. It was a business and board meeting. Here are some highlights from that meeting:

  • We need more Reservoir Run sponsors. Check your email from Paul Schultz with the subject Sponsor Ideas for Reservoir Run- Per our meeting discussion today.
  • Members approved a $25 increase in annual dues, reflecting an increase in the annual assessment from Kiwanis International, the first increase in nearly a decade and only the second in the past 20 years. The secretary will invoice members by email, requesting payment by September 30. Contact your secretary if you missed your email with more details.
  • President Amy nominated Dallas Kersey to serve as a director to complete the unexpired term of Tom Glass. Members will vote on this or any other nominations at the meeting on Saturday, September 28, 2024.
  • The board approved, referring to the Community Service Committee, a proposal to produce a Stop the Bleed® training in Weston in conjunction with the Aspetuck Health District and Weston Volunteer EMS.
