Good morning, !

In this issue: weekly breakfast meetings resume this Saturday with Reservoir Run updates and business meeting; pictures from our picnic; Woody Bliss's memorial service set, link to pay your dues, Stop the Bleed® rescheduled, and more.

This Saturday, September 6, 2025

8:30 a.m. We're back! Our first meeting since June is this Saturday, at the same time (8:30 a.m.) and in the usual place, the Norfield Congregational Church parish hall. Chef Jane will have a breakfast for us. Chef Bill is still on his summer gig. President-elect-designate Harvey will preside for out-of-town President Tom. Harry Spencer is traveling, which should cut the time it takes to pass the happy bucks can.

Come and meet Reservoir Run race director Marty Schiavone. Marty will brief us on planning and his role in the Weston Kiwanis Reservoir 2025 Run, which includes the half-marathon, 5K foot races, and kids' fun run, scheduled for Sunday, October 26. Under the leadership of President Tom, our established organization will maintain its focus on what we've all done well in the past, and Marty will supplement us with his unique experience in race management. Every year is different, and Tom and Marty believe we will have a terrific signature fundraising event again.

Saturday will conclude with our September business meeting.

KIWANIS FAMILY PICNIC SATURDAY, AUGUST 23, 2025

Kiwanis friends and members picnicked in the shade of this tree at Lachat Town Farm at the Juliana Lachat Preserve. Harry Falber, worked with Friends of Lachat, which manages the farm, secured the property for our date and FOL, in gratitude for Kiwanis's volunteers' contributions to the farm, comped Kiwanians and friends to stay after our picnic for complimentary admission to the following music event. Members brought dishes to share. Steve Thomas brought his grill, and Harvey and Lisa Luft grilled the burgers and dogs.

Many others contributed to making the perennial event a success. Kiwaniscope doesn't has a complete list; thanks to all!

Carl Urbania, unable to narrow the selection of delicious food, surveys the accompaniments in the picture nearby. Not pictured is the table of tempting sweets to finish our meals. Click the button below to see the event album with pictures from Harry Spencer.
