Did you know that York Academy has a mobile app? It's a mini version of our website that puts the most valuable information literally at your fingertips! The app serves as an additional way to enhance communication.

Simply search your app store for York Academy Regional Charter. When prompted, make sure to allow notifications so we can share important updates with you.

If you have the app and haven't checked it lately, it's been revised and improved, so please check it out.

Warm Regards,

Student Spotlight
Congratulations to second grader Michael , who was chosen as our Student Spotlight. Michael was nominated for embodying the  IB attribute  of being balanced. It's important to understand the importance of balancing different aspects of our lives - intellectual, physical and emotional - to achieve well-being for ourselves and others. When being balanced, we recognize our interdependence with other people and with the world in which we live.
Michael thoughtfully participates in class, is always on task, and continues to set a good example for his peers by demonstrating PRO behavior throughout the school building. Way to go, Michael. Keep it up!
Staff Shoutout
Upper School Receptionist, Mrs. Ivette Nelson , was nominated for displaying the IB attribute of being caring . Caring individuals show empathy, compassion and respect. They are committed to service and take action by making a positive difference in the lives of others and in the world around them.

Mrs. Nelson is the face of the Upper School, happily greeting everyone who enters the building. She is always willing to help visitors, students and her colleagues, no matter the task. Thank you for going above and beyond every single day, Mrs. Nelson. You are appreciated!
Important Lower School Traffic Flow Change
York City has made Cherry Lane between North Street and Gay Avenue one way. All traffic must enter Cherry Lane from North Street and travel south into the rear parking lot of the Lower School. All traffic leaving the rear lot must exit onto Beaver Street or turn right on Cherry Lane (going toward Central Market). This change in traffic flow is essential to our student drop-off/pick-up procedures and will increase student safety. Thank you!
Support YARCS Basketball
It's basketball season! Please come out and cheer on our Girls and Boys Basketball Teams (grades 5/6, 7/8 and 9/10). The boys are playing tonight starting at 5:30 p.m. in the Wagman Gym at the Upper School.

Golden Music Stand Recipients
Mr. Michael, our Instrumental Music Teacher, loves to inspire and recognize his students. Earlier this year, he unveiled the Golden Music Stand, which symbolizes exceptional work in instrumental music. The stand is awarded as a sort of trophy to a "musician of the month" in each ensemble (Band, Orchestra, Advanced Orchestra and Wind Ensemble).

Only students who are consistently prepared, on time, and perform the assigned music at a high level are eligible to receive the award. Winners earn the right to use the Golden Music Stand exclusively for an entire month of lessons and rehearsals before it moves on to another hard-working ensemble member. Congratulations to Dahlia, Sean, Olivia and Jason (not pictured) on "winning gold!"
