CLASS 0F '25 - APPLY NOW
Applications for our 2021-22 school year are currently being accepted. Although our regular deadline for first round consideration has passed, we continue to accept and review applications for our Class of 2025 on a rolling basis and as space allows.

The first part of our application requires the student and parent(s) to create an account in our admissions portal. This allows applicants to go back and check application status as the application is processed.

The next step is to complete an online portion that requests student data, short essays (by the student), letter of request for admission (by the parents/guardians), and an application fee. Once this first part is submitted online, the student is automatically registered for the HSPT at Bishop on either Saturday, January 23 or Saturday, February 6, 2021. (Student will choose desired date on the application.)

The last step of the online application consists of forms for the student's current school. These forms include a Release of Records (permission for the current junior high/middle school to send transcripts, standardized test scores, etc. to BMHS), English and Math teacher evaluations, and principal/administrator evaluation (for disciplinary and financial clearance). Students need to request all of these supporting documents electronically, so it is important to have the most current email addresses of math and English teachers, principal and school registrar (or equivalent staff member) ready.
VIRTUAL CAMPUS TOUR
When in-person learning resumes, our beautiful 24-acre campus will be ready and waiting for our students. With large outdoor spaces, two gymnasiums, a retreat center, music room, black box theater, four science labs, and brand new state-of-the-art STEAM spaces including a robotics lab, maker spaces, and a digital arts studio, there is something for everyone!

We invite you to take our new virtual campus tour, hosted by some of our very own students, to see why many families and community members call Bishop Montgomery the South Bay's best kept secret. Click here and see for yourself!

BISHOP MONTGOMERY ONLINE LEARNING
Heading into the new year, BMHS continues with 100% online learning and our students continue to work daily with their teachers via Zoom. Four days a week (except Wednesdays, see below), they follow a regular Period 1-6 schedule. Google Classroom, other online learning resources, a dedicated faculty, and a well-vetted 1:1 Chromebook program has made this adjustment to online learning almost seamless.

When the start of the 2020-21 school year mandated online learning, Bishop purposefully added a Community Day to the weekly schedule-- a day full of opportunities for campus-wide faith-building, social engagement, mental health and well-being, and academic support. Each Wednesday, after checking in with their first period teacher for attendance, announcements, and morning prayer, students have a flex schedule to work on asynchronous (independent) class assignments, visit teachers during our standing 9:30-11:30am office hours, participate in prayer experiences, attend virtual club meetings and fun ASB-sponsored events, join mental health workshops hosted by our Choices personal counseling department, as well as other workshops including college essay-writing and navigating high school during the pandemic.

As all of us continue to navigate this uncertain time with our students and their families, we work to maintain structure, dependability, comfort, and connection within our community. We also remain committed to upholding Bishop Montgomery standards in the classroom each day and bring value to the learning experience.

CAMPUS NEWS
Community Service Remains Students' Focus Despite Pandemic
Though distance learning was a major theme of the Fall 2020 semester, giving hearts were also a big part of Bishop's student activities. Across all of our theology classes, students participated in community service projects that directly impacted persons of all ages and brought much-needed kindness and compassion to many people in need.
Alumnus' Groundbreaking Film Catching Film Festival's Eye
Jason Estrada '03 recently had his short film, "The Sand Route," selected for the Independent Shorts Awards (ISA) 2020 film festival. The feature highlights the road taken by Estrada and his desire "to shift the status quo from what it means to be born and raised in Compton [and the negative associations that come with that upbringing] to eventually becoming an entrepreneur and owning the #1 private gym in the world."
Drama Lab's "Home Alone" Mashup Leaves Virtual Audience in Stiches
This Christmas season, our Drama Lab students took hilarity to a whole new level with their own take on the holiday classic "Home Alone." Filming scenes from their own homes and also recruiting faculty members and their children, the students compiled a movie mashup worthy of Oscar consideration for creativity, ingenuity, laughs, and just plain fun.
