GK's Message
Brother Knights,

I hope this note continues to find you and your families in good health.

I would like to thank all brothers who responded to my call for volunteers last week. At this time, there has been no new requests from parishioners for assistance. I take that as a good sign.

Holy Week and Easter are fast approaching. Unfortunately with the extended shelter in place order and the latest instructions from Bishop Barber, church activities are scaled back further.

The same goes for our Council activities. Palm cutting which was scheduled for this Thursday is officially cancelled. This week marks the first time that we will not have our business meeting since I became a knight (perhaps since the Council was founded). The Officers and Directors meeting and all RCCBB meetings for April are likewise cancelled.

On a lighter note, I spent most of the past week working on our Activity Reports in preparation for the State Convention in May. It gave me a chance to look back at what we have accomplished so far this year. Needless to say, even without any events in March and April, we've done a lot! THANK YOU! I am amazed at the amount of work that we have accomplished. I am even more amazed when I looked back at the reports from the previous 2 years and I realize just how much we've given back to the community and organizations we have helped.

Hopefully we're back in business by May and we can finish this Columbian Year with a bang with RCCBB! And then we start over with a new year!

So let us continue praying for an end to this pandemic and the continued safety of our families.

Vivat Jesus!

Prayer for Protection Against COVID-19
God our Father,
We come to you in our need
To ask your protection against the COVID-19 Virus,
That has claimed lives And has affected many.

We pray for your grace
For the people tasked with studying the nature and cause
Of this virus and its disease
And of stemming the tide of its transmission.
Guide the hands and minds of medical experts
That they may minister to the sick
With competence and compassion,
And of those governments and private agencies
That must find cure and solution to this epidemic.

We pray for those afflicted
May they be restored to health soon.

Grant us the grace
To work for the good of all
And to help those in need.

Grant this through our Lord, Jesus Christ, your Son,
Who lives and reigns with You, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, forever and ever. Amen.
