GK's Message
Brother Knights,

We are now on the fourth week of sheltering in place. I hope everyone is adjusting well enough and staying healthy.

This is also Holy Week. While we cannot be physically get together to celebrate, I encourage everyone to attend services that are streamed online. There is no shortage of services available world wide.

Since we did not have our April Business Meeting last week, I am including reports from our Worthy Financial Secretary, Treasurer and Chancellor as well as Membership and Round Table reports and a note from Life Director Nick Libby in the succeeding sections. Please click on the links to review these reports and reach out if you have any questions.

First and Second Degree members, please pay close attention to the Membership report for instructions to register for an online ceremony to get your 3rd Degree.

Lastly, I am saddened to inform you of 2 deaths in our extended Knights' family. Joanne Crossman, Lady Maureen Lundbom's mother, and Edward Roberts, WHGC and PGK John Roberts' father, both passed away last week. I don't believe either case was COVID-19 related but huge losses nonetheless. Please pray for the repose of the souls of Joanne and Edward and for the Crossman, Lundbom and Roberts families.

Let us also continue praying for the end of the COVID-19 pandemic and for the health and safety of our families.

Vivat Jesus!

March Highlights
  • 6 New Members Exemplified to the 3rd Degree
  • 1 2nd Degree Member advanced to the 3rd Degree
  • Council 4588 is at 100% of the Membership quota for 2019-2020!

Attention 1st and 2nd Degree Members!

Before the shelter in place order changed our activities, we had plans to do the new combined exemplification ceremony at our April or May business meetings to advance our 1st and 2nd Degree members to the 3rd Degree. With all in-person meetings put on hold, Supreme is giving us a new option.

The Supreme Council is hosting special online Exemplification of Charity, Unity and Fraternity to be held on  Thurs., April 16, 2020, at 5:00 pm PDT . This ceremony is for new candidates that our council has approved for membership and also for any 1 st  and 2 nd  degree members who seek advancement to the 3 rd  degree.

The ceremony takes only 30 minutes and you can invite family members to view it with you. Attaining full Knighthood cannot be any easier than this.

If you are interested in attending this ceremony, please email by Tuesday, April 14, and I will send you the instructions to register.

Culture of Life Report
A note from Life Director Nick Libby:

There sure are many choices for "churching" via the internet, but I thought I'd add one more for those who are missing the Latin Novus Ordo at St. Margaret Mary.

The Canons Regular of St. John Cantius in Chicago are an order of religious men dedicated to restoring the sacred to Catholic worship. They are currently live streaming all of their liturgies on YouTube: TLM, Novus Ordo (Latin and English), Liturgy of the Hours, and rosaries.

All liturgies are broadcast from their beautiful parish, St. John Cantius, and are celebrated with traditional sacred music.

Mass times are posted on each video and are Central time. All previous live streams are also available on their channel.

Lex orandi, lex credendi.

Oratio Imperata
Prayer for Protection Against COVID-19
God our Father,
We come to you in our need
To ask your protection against the COVID-19 Virus,
That has claimed lives and has affected many.

We pray for your grace
For the people tasked with studying the nature and cause
Of this virus and its disease
And of stemming the tide of its transmission.
Guide the hands and minds of medical experts
That they may minister to the sick
With competence and compassion,
And of those governments and private agencies
That must find cure and solution to this epidemic.

We pray for those afflicted
May they be restored to health soon.

Grant us the grace
To work for the good of all
And to help those in need.

Grant this through our Lord, Jesus Christ, your Son,
Who lives and reigns with You, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, forever and ever. Amen.
